Experience the magic of natural indigo dyeing with instructor Jennifer Reis at this workshop from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Piedmont Arts.
Participants will learn how to prepare the dye vat; techniques of binding, stitching, clamping, and other pattern-making options; the dye process itself; and the final preparation of finished products. Each participant will receive four napkins and two tea towels to dye. Additional napkins and tea towels will be available for purchase. Participants are welcome to bring their own white or cream-colored items made of cotton or silk fabric.
Tickets are $50 for members and $60 for nonmembers. Advanced registration is required. Ticket sales end at noon on the day before class.
Learn to paint "Morning Glory," a flower that symbolizes hope and new beginnings, with instructor Rosalynn Arnold at this watercolor workshop from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Piedmont Arts.
Designed for intermediate watercolor students, this class will explore techniques including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and the use of masking fluid to create vibrant, luminous blooms. Students will also receive instruction on stretching watercolor paper, transferring a drawing, and selecting quality watercolor supplies and materials to continue their artistic journey.
All supplies needed for the class are included, allowing students to focus on learning and creating. Whether you’re refining existing skills or expanding your watercolor knowledge, you’ll leave with a finished painting to treasure and a deeper understanding of the watercolor medium.

Learn Bob Ross’ famous painting technique with certified instructor Naomi Hodge-Muse. Classes meet from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. Students should bring a roll of paper towels. All other supplies will be provided.
