Tex S. Crawford is a self-taught artist who transforms reclaimed objects into whimsical works of art.
His paintings and cut tin creations resonate with color and movement. Together with sculptural assemblages constructed from found objects collected on the back roads of rural Georgia, he creates a world of wonder filled with magical animals, mystical creatures, and a sense of joy and exploration.
A musician and former sound engineer, he believes that everything produces frequencies and vibrations. By being receptive to these forces, a person can draw inspiration from the cosmos.
His work can be seen at the Lyndon House in Athens, Georgia, and Roots Up Gallery in Savannah, Georgia. It has been included in shows at the Georgia Museum of Art, Quinlan Visual Arts, and the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation. He exhibits at festivals across the Southeast. He lives and works in Hull, Georgia.
