Piedmont Arts breaks ground on new Pollinator Trail

Beep beep, construction underway!

Piedmont Arts broke ground on its new Pollinator Trail in a ceremony with community partners today.

The project will create a community walking trail lined with native plants that support pollinators, and will connect Piedmont Arts to its neighbors Alliance Bee and the museum’s Gravely-Lester Art Garden.

Future plans will connect the trail to community partners on Starling Avenue, including First Baptist Church, the YMCA, Virginia Museum of Natural History, One Starling and the Silverbell Trail.

The Pollinator Trail is funded through a Project Hope grant from the Harvest Foundation and is in partnership with Beegins With You Foundation. Project support is provided by Prillaman Landscape Dimensions, the YMCA, Virginia Museum of Natural History, Bee City, Martinsville Garden Club and Garden Study Club, and other community organizations.
