The rain this past weekend did not keep local artists and musicians away from Piedmont Arts. The museum’s first-ever Arts Festival took place on Saturday, Oct. 14 to a full house of painters, potters, woodworkers, and crafters of all mediums. With a steady schedule of local musicians and food trucks, over 200 participants converged on the museum for an afternoon of shopping, crafts, and locally sourced music.
Lauren Ellis, programs coordinator at Piedmont Arts, was thrilled by the turn out. “It was so exciting to see the variety of talent that southwest Virginia has to offer,” she said. “I’m looking forward to this turning into a local tradition.”
