Art students attending Bassett and Martinsville high schools experienced the magic of indigo shibori dyeing during workshops with instructor Jennifer Reis on April 3-4.
Shibori is a Japanese tie-dyeing technique that produces different patterns on fabric. Reis guided the students through the various techniques used to make patterns, helping them create napkins and tea towels.
