Holiday Family Day

Holiday Family Day at Piedmont Arts kicked off the season with cookie decorating, ornament making, and a visit by that jolly old man – arriving by firetruck! Over 250 children and their families enjoyed getting a head start on their favorite time of the year.

Jamestowne Family Day

Over 300 kids and their parents had fun learning about one of our state's famous cities during our Jamestowne Family Day. Storyteller Mike Lowe and Johanna Britt and her spinning wheel helped to recreate what life was like 400 years ago. Visitors made pinch pots and wampum bracelets and sampled corn cakes, cider, and ginger cookies after touring the Jamestowne 1607 exhibit in the Young Artists Gallery.

What's That? Sculpture Family Day

In conjunction with the Tri-State Sculptors Annual Members Exhibition, Piedmont Arts hosted a fun filled family day. Activities based around the art of sculpting featured food, crafts, and mobile making with artist Kevin Reese.

Trash Bash Family Day

Everyone loved participating in these educational and fun activities about the art of recycling. Gateway Streetscape displayed winners of the "Found Objects" contest. In keeping with the theme, snacks included Compost Cake and Trash Trail Mix. The crowd was entertained by Carlisle's Trash Can Band and a special appearance from the Trash Bag!

African Safari Family Day

Families enjoyed making African crafts including bracelets and masks, and touring the wonderful paintings by Betty LaDuke. They were also entertained with African stories, songs and dance with a special interactive performance by Queen Nur and drummer Shaka Zulu.
