We will have two guest speakers celebrating Black History Month. Rev. Joseph Carter will discuss black history in America and show pictures from his trips to Africa. Gloria Anderson will show a “Freedom Quilt” and explain the “codes” stitched into the quilt blocks to guide slaves traveling North along the Underground Railroad.

Becky Mushko, award winning author from Penhook will be our guest speaker. Her latest book, “Ferradiddledumday” is the Appalachian version of Ruppelstiltskin. It is written for children, but is a wonderful read for any age. Becky has published five other books, including “Patches on the Same Quilt.” She wrote a humourous advice column called “Peevish Advice” and has published many short stories.
