A part of the Martinsville-Henry County community since 1961, when Virginia Museum of Fine Arts encouraged the formation of a statewide network of local chapters, Piedmont Arts has been celebrating visual arts, performing arts and arts education in Southern Virginia for over 50 years. |
This award-winning museum brings thought-provoking work from international, national and regional artists to its galleries in regularly changing exhibitions. Piedmont Arts also offers performing arts—from concerts to plays to children's performances—and a full schedule of art classes for all ages. While visiting the museum, parents and children can visit the Discovery Room, a mini art studio where budding artists can create and display their work. In the museum's Studio 107 Gallery, guests can find unique gifts, like handmade jewelry, artwork and more, created by local artists. Proceeds for Studio 107 Gallery sales go directly to support the local artists who created the work.
In addition to on-site activities, the museum also invites guests to see local artists at work at Studio 107 Artist Studios for Piedmont Arts, located in Martinsville's historic Uptown district.
Piedmont Arts is a statewide Partner of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
